Underrated: Killswitch Engage Bloodsimple Mushroomhead Nothingface Spineshank (too bad they broke up, the lead singer has a new band though) Trivium
Bloodsimple kicks ass. I got their debut CD in December, and it revived my intrest in heavy music which had been dead for a few years. I love their style, mostly heavy with occassional breaks..What If I Lose It and Cruel World are two awesome songs on their CD.
Spineshank is also pretty good but dosen't have a huge following, I like their last two CD's quite a bit but I'm not too fond of Strictly Diesel.

If you like they're style of heavy with breaks, listen to Sell Me Out which is on their CD. Definitley my favorite song on there. Plunder is also good.
I saw Bloodsimple and American Head Charge play at Pop's in Sauget a while back. That was a kick ass show. The headliner was Static-X, and some wierd mexican thrash metal band played as well (Asesino, ???).
On the topic of Audioslave, I can stand to listen to it because I like Tom Morello that much, kinda just tune out Chris Cornell.

Ill nino?
yea i saw audioslave on lollapalooza 2001(i think) and tom morello still is god with some kick ass solo;s but other than that the only other good part was when cornell went offstage and let Rage-1 jam for a good 10-15 minutes
Sure some of their new stuff is catchy, but get a grip!
U2
For the better part of the last decade, these guys have held the keys to the kingdom. While they are certainly radio friendly with some very good singles, it just escapes me how these guys are so huge!
The two most underrated bands of today:
The Flaming Lips
I'm not saying that these guys don't get their respect, just that they don't get enough of it. Despite having released five solid albums within the last decade, including their masterpiece Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, and possibly the coolest concept album ever (Zaireeka), these guys still fall under the dubious category of "One-Hit Wonder".
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
Vocal acrobatics, driving guitars with hooks abound, and a lyrical wit that could match Elvis Costello in his prime. I am honestly stunned that this guy doesn't get more airplay.
