I've recently been watching these and I've become hooked. Just wondering if anybody has an opinion on which is better. I'm leaning towards Fifth Gear as it is a bit more professional and experienced with the driving capabilities.

And I'm not sure.. but I think that Top Gear uses Tiff, from Fifth Gear, as their driver.. anyone find this a little sad they have to borrow driving talent for a car show??

anyways.. gimme your opinion on the shows.

What channel are those shows on? I didn't know they were even broadcast on our side of the pond. Plus we don't get speed through Fidelity. Are you just watching them online?

Are you talking about the Stig? We don't know his identity....the whole point of it being an unknown person is to be an unbiased and consistent driver taking the cars around the track.

Ah.. hadn't seen a Top Gear ep in a while, Tiff sounded kinda like Stig in my recollection of thier british accent or something like that...

The Stig doesn't talk...don't know where you heard his/her voice to compare to Tiff

I believe he meant the word TIff sounded like the word Stig.

It's another car show in the UK, but it lacks the humor and entertainment Top Gear has.

Top Gear, from what I've seen, owns Fifth Gear.

Granted, I've only seen like a quarter of an episode of Fifth Gear, but whatever.

I've had some time to watch both and the main difference is where most of the show occurs... Fifth Gear is on the track about 80% of the time, with all of the regular drivers very capable of whipping anycar around it in a respectable fashion. Top Gear is spent far more on the roads testing far less on the track. I like both of them, but.. the episode of Top Gear that I just finished spent about 1/2 the time driving 3 supercars to Paris, and not much else.. I like Fifth Gear better because they almost always manage to get the cars on the track...

Top Gear airs in the US on the speed channel I believe (saw it at home during spring break), cept they have to cut out peices of the episodes, as they need room for commercials (true episodes are 1 hr long)
