Reel Big Fish is an interesting choice amidst your list (but I quite enjoy them), and I like Mars Volta quite a bit as well.

Overall, I like classic rock like LZ, Jimi Hendrix, and even some Lynyrd Skynyrd. As far as modern bands go, I enjoy just about every genre, but really like Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy's, In Flames, Killswitch Engage and even some fun stuff like Cake and Bloodhound Gang. My guilty pleasure bands are Rammstein and System of a Down.

Im not really sure MSI really counts as rock, sure the most common genre for them is acid rock, it really isnt. I like them and all but, idk.

NIN
Sevendust
Tool
APC (they are no more *tear*)
Sublime (same)
Rage (same again)
Incubus (preferably older shit, they kinda went soft on me)
311

MSI is definitely rock. They're some weird-ass sub-genre of punk, but definitely rock. I'll put up a list of my own later, but it's going to be huge. Nice choice of bands for the most part, though, thread-starter.

I'm actually going to list bands by sub-genre, since there's so many. Each one of these are my favorites in that particular sub-genre, and yes, I listen to all of them frequently.

Metal-Core: August Burns Red, Burn In Silence, Converge, Darkest Hour, Screams of Erida, The Climax, The Dillinger Escape Plan

Alternative: A Perfect Circle, Coheed and Cambria, Coldplay, Dredg, Muse, Ours, Porcupine Tree, Queens of the Stone Age

Metal: Chevelle, Deftones, Mastodon, Mudvayne, Nine Inch Nails, System of a Down

Instrumental: Apocalyptica (cello-rock), Behold...the Arctopus (progressive metal), Blue Man Group, Buckethead (virtuosic metal), Hella (noise-rock/math-rock), Liquid Tension Experiment (progressive metal)

Progressive Metal: Dream Theater, Office of Strategic Influence, Symphony X, Tool

Hardcore: Error, Mindless Self Indulgence, The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower

Post-Hardcore: Alexisonfire, At the Drive-In, Emery, Glassjaw, Saosin, Thrice

Death Metal: Necrophagist, Neuraxis, Opeth

Rap: Ludacris, Sage Francis, Saul Williams

Post-Rock: Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emporer, Isis, Pelican, Red Sparowes, Russian Circles, We Followed Tigers

Noise-Rock: An Albatross, Lightning Bolt, The Flying Luttenbachers, The Locust

Progressive: Circa Survive, Mr. Bungle, The Mars Volta

I'd say by far my favorite bands right now are Red Sparowes, Circa Survive, Muse, Dredg, Mastodon, and Opeth. Favorite genre currently is Post-Rock (it's awesome, check it out).

Helluva list there, Ben Laden. Some great bands, too. Do you like the newer Queens of the Stone Age stuff as much as the older stuff (Rated R and self-titled, I mean)? I can't get into it as much.

I find their older stoner-rock-ish stuff a bit boring. I really like Songs for the Deaf, and I haven't really delved into Lullabies to Paralyze yet, although Everybody Knows You're Insane is a really good song.

I don't really like their stuff when the main guys were Kyuss, but I did enjoy the sound of their early stuff. Oh, and your mention of Apocalyptica is making me go on a binge of their music, now.

Man, I love Enter the Chicken by Buckethead & Friends. Probably one of my favorite albums of 2005.
