Anyone dabbled in doing this?

Got a handful of songs I want to attempt in removing the vocals. I've read it really depends how the album tracks are recorded to defer it's easyness or whether its possible without ruining the sound. Just curious if anyones tried doing this and how were the results.

Bands need to release instrumental recordings of their songs more often.

Play with bandpass filters in your audio editing software of choice.

Basically, you're removing very select frequencies that the vocals are on.

It's a messy process. Usually you have to take away some of the bass along with the vocals, and even then it doesn't completely wipe the vocals out. You could check out some programs that do it to see what I mean.
