does anyone have first-hand knowledge of a reputable subaru mechanic in rolla? i need brake work, so as a back-up plan, i'll just take it to one of the better bake mechanics.

Brakes are brakes. Unless they are Brembos(STI) any decent shop will be okay. Anything else on the Subaru is all screwed up different so that requires knowledge

You don't need a Subaru Mechanic to work on brakes, including brembos...brakes are a joke, do them yourself! I put new pads on my brembos last month and it took me 10 minutes...

Subaru engines are different. If your average "local" mechanic looks under the hood of a WRX he will ask you WTF??

Like FooFoodar said, the brakes aren't hard to do. The reason i say brembos are different is because of the rotors/pads. You don't want to use the wrong materials/combo or you will destroy your brakes. Just find a ME who will help you or pay them and at least the job will be done right.

What year and model is your car?

OK I got it already! You guys have BREMBO brakes!! yaaaaayyyy!!!!!
This job is more than brakes...I think it might need a master cylinder and/or new brake lines. That's why I wanted to find someone who at least could ORDER the proper parts and have some idea of what they're doing.
Eh, I think I'm going with that AUTOCRAFT place over by the 63/72 junction. Anyone have pos/neg experience with them?

avoid that place completely, they suck ass; major ass, there are so much better places to go! i just can think of any of them right now.... i'll get back to you later

and for someone looking under the hood of a wrx and going wtf they must be an idiot. im not a mechanic but i've worked on cars and i could tear down a wrx and put it back together no problem. and order correct parts.

I too am also looking for a mechanic that is good with Subaru's or similar cars. I think my starter is going bad, but I don't want to give it to any Joe Schmo and have him mess it up worse.
