Haha, rice...ok. Mind me asking what you drive? Cause to be rice, it has to be riced out. Considering the only thing i have on my car that doesnt make it go faster is my struts/springs, that isnt rice.

Yeah, that looks like rice doesnt it?!

...I've got nothing against Probes, but that isn't a probe, at least no more than a Busch series car is a taurus/500. It isn't even driving the same set of wheels!

look, im not gonna waste my time trying to prove anything, cause its pointless. I know what mine and others can do, and not by no means are they the coolest/fastest thing around, dont get me wrong. I understand everyone has different tastes. I just would like to hear what JaredL is driving that he can shoot his mouth off...thats all..

just found your profile on some car site (did google search) and saw you put the 2JZ toyota engine in it. Is that a one-off swap or do a number of people do that? i dont know much about Ford's and Mazda's cause they arent really my thing, but that appears to be a strong and successful swap.

as a side note, the day after i first read this thread, i swear i saw 3 'riced' Probe/MX6's, all dark green, in one day.

Its not my car. There are currently 2 2jz probes built. They are completely custom. The car is sporting a GT42r turbo on a completely stock bottom end. Matt Fall is the guys name that built the black one.

As far as seeing them around town..hey every car has people that rice them out. But generalizing and saying that all are rice isnt fair. Here is the link to mine, i personally dont think its rice at all..And yes i know which cars you are talking about, they are ricey..

lets see...

Daily driver: 99 mitsu eclipse

Project car: 89 camaro, hooker headers, 305 v8

Truck: 90 GMC with a 350 lt1 and cats

and as soon as my daily driver is paid off and i save enough money for a down payment my next car is in the link below or i may just get a TA and wait for the new camaro.

Id respect you more if you drove a freakin' Taurus than something that sounds so gay ford probably regrets ever calling it that. But i saw your car and i have to say thats the best kept probe ive seen. and you have to admit there are a whole hell of A LOT of ricey probes.

IS the eclipse a real DSM?
305..weak..
Sadly enough the truck would be the only thing i could even consider a threat, no offense.

Have fun with the new car when you get it. As far as my car, oh well, i didnt name it. Thanks for the kind words about the car, i try to keep it looking stock, body kits and shit are stupid. Yeah i admit there are a liot of ricey probes/mx6/civic/cavys/etc...and i just have to shake my head a little when i see them. I have just picked up a set of 255/50/16 ET streets that are mounted on 3rd gen rx7 wheels. In the mail is a custom sheet metal intake mani. and being built in FL is a megasquirt standalone for it..so no rice in store for this one..

i dont mind the body kits and stuff as long as its got the under-hood performance mods to back it up. It's one thing to make a car 'look' fast, but its another to actually put for the time/effort/money to actually make it go faster. So while i dont really like Probes cause they're normally just riced, i admire the effort you've put into your to make it not 'just another probe'.

and what do you mean by a "real DSM"? if its an eclipse, then its part of the Mitsu family and is therefore part of the Diamond Star Motors (DSM)... or are you meaning is it really made in japan? i believe all Eclipses were made in Normal, IL, right here in the states. I'm pretty sure theres an annual DSM/Mitsu. car gathering at the plant ever year also.

I looked into a 1st gen DSM engine swap (the 90-94 6-bolt 4G63T) for my car, but not many people were pulling off the swap cause its a custom job, and none were done the way i'd like it to be done. If i had the time/money/tools/know-how i'd do it the way i'd want to do it, but i just dont have any of those.

no dsms are just 1st and 2nd gen eclipse and some evo's. all the mitsu family with a 4g in it. all 420a motors and whatever they make are not classified as dsm. a better wording to his question - is it turbo'd or not?
