Has anybody done any major air conditioning repair? I'm finding myself having to replace the A/C condenser and radiator on my new '00 Focus (and I'm now wishing I'd put the thing on a lift before I bought it). The radiator sprung a leak, the condenser is bent but may still? hold? refrigerant?? I'm not sure.

I'm most likely going to end up replacing both of them, since I have to replace the radiator anyway and the condenser is currently impinging on the radiator's spot. Of course, I know how these things go--once you open the system, you have to replace the accumulator...and as long as it's open you may as well replace the $2.00 orifice tube and save yourself the cash later on down the road...And looking at the price for all these components, I don't wanna think about labor costs, realizing this could be a $1000 job. Yikes.

Anyway. Has anybody done a major A/C repair? Also, I'm looking for a set of manifolds and a vacuum pump--is there anywhere around here that rents that out?
