I'm selling my car in a couple weeks and im wondering if there is a cheap way to get to mizzou from here. Greyhound tickets are like $50 and it takes 6 hours and thats pretty fucking stupid so, alternatives?

I looked into Greyhound last year, decided not to. From KC to Rolla [a 3.5 hour car ride], it would have cost me $65 and taken over 18 hours. I thought that was a bad way to go.

I rode the train once or twice, that wasn't too bad.

Post on Seek to see if anyone else is going and split gas costs. I have never owned a car and have never had a problem getting places.

how the hell does Greyhound turn a 3.5 hour car ride into a 16 hour bus ride?

They stop in every single town along the way, and some towns out of the way. :X

Amtrak really isn't a bad solution if all else fails. I only took it once a couple of years ago from the Kirkwood station to Warrensburg, but there were only a couple of stops (and it's not like the train can go to "out of the way" places), and overall the pace was very brisk. However, it's nothing more than a glorified bus, but it's not a bad solution.

As I recall, the closest is in Jeff. But you can find car rides to STL or Jeff pretty easy.

Is it sad that I read the topic, and thought it was a UMR drop-out joke?

Sorry to dissapoint you haha.

Also, there would be no point in just getting a ride to Jeff city because its a real quick drive from there anyway.
