I do wonder how many of us there are on campus. There are about 10 in the facebook group "Rolla Atheists" but that's about it. There needs to be a group on campus to unite us, as there exists a multitude of religious orgs on campus.
Anyone agree?

Most likely have little get togethers and discuss topics that relate to the lack of faith. The same question could be posed to the african-american student group. What would they talk about? Their skin? No, there's more to talk about, and that's my point.
Atheist professors... haha, truthfully I bet you wouldn't have to look far to find a doubter.
But yeah, that would rock. I've already talked with American Atheists and getting support (as in, we pay them, we get materials) isn't hard.

What exactly would a group of Atheists talk about?
If I'm not mistaken, I do believe one exists here on campus. Something about "The Brights" or something. I'm not entirely sure what their stand is, but I believe they share certain points of view with Scientology, with regards to the actualization of religion and belief. Someone formerly on these boards was a member of this group.

Hmm, this sounds an awful lot like church for non-believers to me. Isn't part of the whole appeal to not associating one self with a religion the fact that you don't meet up with those who share common beliefs to talk about it? That's probably the biggest reason why a group such as this would not survive.

Are you kidding? The whole "appeal" is because you don't BELIEVE in it. Sure, there are certainly some people who do it for the attention, but...., what the fuck? Do you seriously think people are atheist because they don't want to discus their beliefs with other similarly-minded people?

The word "bi-partisan" usually means some larger-than-usual deception is being carried out.
According to the statistics in that thread, and how survey data is used by certain people at this school, I think it be safe to say this is a non-Christian campus!
Why? Because 77 > 76.
