I'm looking for a place to live next year. I haven't seen a thread this year on who are the good landlords and who sucks. Also if you know of places they have open, that would be good too. I've been looking on rollanet, but there is no way for me to tell if the landlord sucks.

I currently rent from Investment, I haven't had too many complaints. I don't want this to turn into "your worst horror story with Investment or the dorms"

btw: Off campus, ftw!

Louis Watkins, 368-1183, rents to students pretty much exclusively, has reasonably priced rents around campus, and may or may not have anything opening up in May. He's a joy to work with and as long as you pay your rent on time, you'll never hear anything out of him if you don't want to.

Chris Blair. Great landlord, as long as you pay your rent, he won't bother you. I don't know his phone number, but it would probably be best to stop by his office. It's the Farmers Insurance office on Pine Street (I believe it's between 7th and 8th)

I recommend Brown Rentals through Century 21. You won't be very close to campus, but they do an excellent job of maintaining the apartments and duplexes.

I'll second this. Louie's a good man, and doesn't make many surprise visits.

Don't go through investment if there are even any places left. your ass will hurt when you walk out of that building. more than a little.

Monte Shields is good, but most of his stuff is a bit more expensive.

And if you haven't had a problem with investment yet... then you haven't tried to move out yet.

I haven't but, we aren't going to have any problems at all moving out, because someone is taking over our house as is and paying us directly for the deposit. So the lease and everything is taken care of.

Our next door neighbor is selling his house...130,000

and that is the key to investment, just having somebody take your cut.

I can second that... My place is within a reasonable walking distance personally (Lexington Place).

Ah, passing the problem on to someone else. That's the best way to handle Investment. I don't blame you in the least.

Thats how we got the house, and hopefully the cycle continues, its a great party house which in turn promotes the house for when you want to move out.

F*** investment
