Does anyone have any experience with either Vessels or The Center? I'm looking for a gym to go to, to lift weights (by myself as I have no one to lift with), during one of my long breaks in between classes in the middle of the day. I was just curious if anyone had any preferences, reservations, or good/bad experiences.

The Center wouldn't be a great choice if you were looking to just lift. They don't have a lot of freeweights and depending on the time of day it can get fairly crowded. It is, however, only $20/month last time I checked. If you're looking for an overall routine (i.e. running as well) then they probably aren't a bad choice.

Hmm. My routine is strictly barbell right now. I don't like machines for lifting for obvious reasons.

I know the quality is not that great, but Gale-Bulman Multi-Useless has freeweights. I'd recommend them simply because you are already paying for them.

Which is why I'm looking for a real gym to go to lol. I wasn't sure of the condition of our gym and figured it wouldn't suit my needs anyway. Looks like I'll be looking into Vessels then. :/

Really depends on what you're looking for in a gym. Has 3 power cages, one dedicated benchpress, from 40lb-110lb EZ curl bars, bunch of machines, smith machine as far as lifting goes. Tons of ellipticals and treadmills a couple of rowing machines and quite a few stationary bikes for cardio purposes.
