I just checked my Joe's SS account and I have a 'Traffic Offense' charge for $60. I have always paid my parking tickets on time when I get them, so I emailed police@mst.edu and they sent me back this response:
Quote:
100014629-3/15/10, 200014313-12/14/09, 300011885-10/21/2009 – all ticket were $20.00 each. These were tickets that were not linked earlier in the year, we run this report during this time to pick up all outstanding tickets.
You will not receive notification in the mail. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
I don't understand how I have three tickets ranging from October of last year till last month, considering I never had anything on my car. Also I've never had a ticket before that was for more than $10, so how do I all of a sudden have 3 for $20 each?

The parking cops checked the license plate and found out that nope, it wasn't my car. The owner of the car wasn't even close to my name. ALso it was a Blue Chevy Blazer, not my black chevy cavalier.
You mean you weren't going to just pay the tickets and move on, even though you weren't the one who committed the offense? What a Republican. They're just spreading the tickets around a bit - we've all got to help carry the load! We don't want our great grandchildren paying our parking tickets do we?

Somewhat related, what happens if you're not a student, get a ticket, don't pay it, but have family at S&T?
For example, my brother goes there now. My car is registered in my name, but to the same address that they have for my brothers' home address. And our last name is unique, there is no one else at S&T, or any other UM school for that matter, who has our last name, so any idiot would be able to link me and him. Every now and then when I go down to Rolla, I park in a campus lot and have been lucky so far, but if I were to get a ticket and not pay it, would they charge it to him?

I can tell you that they don't look too far. I drive a car that's registered in a family member's name. I've ignored most of the campus tickets I've gotten, and they haven't come back to bite me.
