And I always hear that people found him. He seems to go missing quite often. Maybe we should put a leash on him.

atheism isn't a belief in anything, though that does make perfect sense

Atheism is a belief in nothing. Agnosticism isn't a belief in anything.

Maybe he meant that agnosticism isn't a belief in any specific set of beliefs/doctrines/what-have-you's.

Personally, I take it a step further than agnosticism and subscribe to the belief of dongivafuckism, as in I don-giv-a-fuck whether Jesus, Allah, or the Holy Goat exists or doesn't exist... I'm gonna put in my time and deal with the endgame (whatever it is or isn't) when I get to it. If that happens to be Hell, fine... I'll probably be stuck next to just about all of you anyway.

Pretty much, from my understanding agnosticism is just the denial of other beliefs whereas atheism is an actual belief in no God.

So basically your understanding is still wrong.

Wikipedia wrote:
Atheism is commonly described as the position that there are no deities. It can also mean the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. A broader meaning is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist

Wikipedia wrote:
Agnosticism is the view that the truth value of certain claims—especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, but also other religious and metaphysical claims—is unknown or unknowable.[1] Agnosticism can be defined in various ways, and is sometimes used to indicate doubt or a skeptical approach to questions. In some senses, agnosticism is a stance about the differences between belief and knowledge, rather than about any specific claim or belief.
