Being a poor and cheap student Ive been kicking around installing a small TV antenna on my apartments outside wall.

Before doing that however, was wondering if it is even possible to GET off air channels in this town?

OTA == Over The Air

Yes, it should be possible, though Rolla may be one of the few places that hasn't 100% made the to digital transition.

you can get a digital tuner box if you have an old tv, but if you have an hdtv you can just plug any old antenna with coax into it, you'll pick up about 8 channels in rolla if it's a good aerial and it's high enough. you can get columbia, springfield, jeff city, and MAYBE st louis

i think i used to get 3, 10, 13, 27, 33 the best

The only channel after the all-digital conversion I am able to get is the analog repeater of KOMU 8 from the tower on TJ.

As soon as KMNR takes that tower over as a more powerful radio tower, that station will be gone, along with any OTA channels available in Rolla that I know of.

yes OTA = "off the air"....sorry should have made that clear the first time.

So.... Rolla DOES have strong enough signals from Columbia and Springfield that an antenna can recieve.

Ive not had good luck in other towns with strong digital sigs for OTA use.... hence the questions.

Now any recommendations on a small yet DISCRETE looking antenna for such use??

Do you have access to the attic of your apartment?
