"We don't need a bridge...we've designed a river-crossing program!" Urr.
I'd rather not be anywhere near a building designed by a civil from UMR. Most of the Civils I've known were too drunk and/or stoned to know what was going on at any point in time...

Civils...don't...design...buildings. Generally speaking. You must be thinking arch e. Ahem...no comment there.
Civils tend to stick to bridges, roads, dams, waste treatment systems, things of that nature. Though, I grant you will see a team of civils/structural engineers working on skyscrapers and the such.
And I can't speak for the whole department, granted, but the 6-7 civvie students that I know pretty well are quite sober.
Maybe the drunk ones are the brainiacs who get hired on by MODOT to design turns with reverse banks on US-63? Seriously. How freaking hard is it to move 1/2 a ton of dirt from one side of the curve to the other so you don't have to rely on your struts and hard braking to keep your car pointed the right direction? I don't get it. I mean, if you're going to do that, just leave the curve flat and level instead of banking it the wrong dang direction...

But Civil is the only UMR program ranked in the top 25 of the nation.
That being said, I'm an ArchE going into structural engineering, a major that's only accredited at 13 schools nation wide, with UMR about to become the 14th I believe. I doubt they'll bother ranking my major any time soon.
