there's The Center down 10th street, left at the intersection past the high school. it's really nice but you have to pay for a membership. if i had some extra cash on the side, i'd go there.
The Centre offers a few payment options (daily passes, season
pass, and a discount for students):
http://www.rollanet.org/~centre/admission/rates.html Looks like the current rate is $65 per semester.
If you want new, good equipment, it might be the best
place in Rolla.
If you're looking for free weights, Multipurpose might
be best. (You might also check out Vessels - I don't
know what they offer)
Cool. Also is there any place around here to buy Whey protein at? (not sure if walmart sells it.) The closest GNC is like 30 miles from here.
yeah, i think there is one inside the PX mall on fort wood. civilians are allowed to shop in the mall area but cannot shop inside the PX or electronics department. but first you have to get a temporary pass at the front gate before you're allowed on post.
I personally think Vessels is the best place. For $22 a month you get free instruction of weight trainer, locker, raquetball, free classes of kickboxing, etc.... I think they are the best deal. I have been a member there for nearly 3 years. Vessels is located behind Denny's and Donut King off of Hwy 63
Does anyone know if any of the mentioned facilities have a steam room and or a sauna?

The Multi-useless building has workout equipment free to UMR students.
I think that we've actually all paid the admission fee to multi in one of our plethera of student fees.
All the more reason you should go get your money's worth. You've already paid for a health club membership, as well as admission to all UMR sporting events. At least, don't waste ALL that cash.
By the way--I've got a big can of whey protein in my room. It's GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey Protein, Strawberry flavor. I paid upwards of $30 and have made probably 5 shakes out of it. First person to show up at my door with $5 gets it. I live in Farrar Hall, room 5 downstairs. There's really nothing wrong with it, I just found a different brand/flavor that I like better.
Vessels is $22 / month x 4 months = $88 or The Centre at $65 for the same 4 months. Tricky math to do. Plus the staff at the Centre is awesome, they know fitness too. My choice for the area has to be the Centre.
