So I decided against grad school after I graduate this coming May. Instead I'd like to do something like Peace Corps. Does anyone know of any good places that I could apply to? I am not a US citizen and so cannot apply to Peace Corps. I've already been accepted to a few countries through the Global Volunteering Network, but you have to pay to do that. I don't have much money and would rather get paid. I'm looking for something like teaching english in Africa. Can anyone help me?

There are a lot of organizations that do similiar stuff to the corps. Many churches have access to great opportunities to serve, even if you aren't of that denomination, most will help place you in contact with an organization. Not all jobs are faith-based either, so don't let that be a deterant. Keep in mind that when you work in these situations you normally get paid a stipend only to live comfortably in the country where you are serving, not the US. Make sure that the organization will provide insurance, gauranteed healthcare, etc.

If you aren't looking to get out of the country, i know there's a volunteer program for teaching in inner-city problem environments for people just out of college, and i assume it pays a standard low-pay/insurance kinda thing. i don't know the name, but if you want more info, i could contact someone who does...

I don't htink he is complaining about not getting paid. I think he means he wants the trip itself paid for. Doing good deeds can get friggin expensive. He is looking for a chance to serve others that is in need of people and already has the setup to do it so he isn't paying $4000 or more.
