I fail to see the downside of this, nor the benefits for that matter... Whenever you live and work in the real world, summer just doesn't have the same appeal that it used to.

I hate getting into a car and getting burned by the steering wheel, suffocated by the 199 degree interior, and the huge humidity swings that the midwest is known for, especially when walking out of an air conditioned building into the sultry heat.
Gimme cold days any day.
Although, it is easier to do just about everything else outside when it isn't covered in snow.

buy some window vents from autozone search for "ventshade" it lets you leave your windows open about an inch without the worry of rain what what have you, combined with a sunshade it helps a TON.. best $50 I spent on my car

As it turns out, my fears may have been excessive. Since I'm now in northern Iowa, I appear to be far enough north that the temperature actually remains reasonable.
i.e. On the second day of summer, the high was in the mid 60's, and has been ever since. Latitudes are amazing things.
