I can't believe people are naive enough to think that, come April (the turn-in month) that criminals will just happily give their guns away.

(Google it, so far none of the major news outlets have reported it, it's called Proposition H)

I think it would be alot easier to restrict alot of guns - simply because if you happen to see someone with a gun, its obvious they're kinda breaking the law. I sadly know that this won't work, so I really doubt this is going to have any good effect, beyond making it more difficult for criminals to get the weapons - but then again they still will get em so anyone that obeys the law is screwed...As usual.

I dont like guns.
Gun accidents are so unfortunate. A tool that is supposed to be used for protection turns into a deadly accident in homes.
I hope that one day, home owners wont need guns to protect themselves, because no one will enter their house with any malicious intent.

Still in your dream world, I see. When are you ever going to take me up on going shooting? The semester is almost over, man.

As opposed to alcohol related accidents, car accidents, or any other accidents that are more common then firearm acccidents?

Phil, no offense intended, but you are living in a dream world. Are you one of these people that believes everyone is inherently good?

Check out the chart on this web site (towards the botom of the page):
http://www.guncite.com/gun_control_gcgvacci.html

I acknowledge that this is a pro-gun website, and that I didn't check these numbers. If you find them to be false, go ahead and point it out. The numbers come from the

No. You don't reduce crime by handing people a deadly weapon.

Right, you reduce it by making sure that anyone with a deadly weapon doesn't give a damn about the law to begin with (READ: Criminals)
Thus ensuring that if a criminal chooses to assault a citizen with said deadly weapon, he can do so with impunity, sure that the citizen will have pretty much no hope of defending themselves.....
