I didn't get a chance to read the article, but my question is, what harm does anonymous posting do? Is there a legal, moral, or economic reason to prohibit it? If so, is it something that should be legislated at state level?
To me, the answers are none, no, no, maybe, and no.
Of course, a small government internet would be great, but I don't think we're headed that way.

I think the justification the NJ Legislature will give is that they're trying to make libel harder to anonymize.
I think the real reason is that they see anonymous bloggers and similar types as easy ways to short-circuit campaign finance laws.
