Huh, I thought they (Dell) denied this a couple of weeks ago. Guess not.

I hope Dell changes nothing about the way Alienware is run. Dell is horrible.

By selling 5 new systems. Gotta love that 1000% markup they have going on :)

It's still overpriced, no doubt, but have you seen the specs on that thing??

Alienware shouldn't be change at all. They well be a subsidary company with their own marketing support products etc. Dell just makes money off it now.

I assume the deal just means that Dell now holds the majority of Alienware's stock.

The really sad thing is, in two years you will be able to build a better one for less than a tenth of that.

Im just curious to see how long it will take them to put all that into a laptop.

But I do like the "Physics Accelerator" card they have on it. I wonder how much of a difference it makes. (in addition to the 4 SLI cards it has)

Alienware laptops are pointless. Why would you want a laptop that gets 45 minutes of battery life while playing games?

The only thing you would need it for is LAN parties, but if you where that serious you would probably want to bring your big rig anyway.

It makes no difference until they make games that take advantage of said card. And really, how many game companies will go out of their way to code for these when no one has them? And who would buy them if there are no games for it?

I have a cheese-shredder, which is its positive name. They don't call it by its negative name, cause no one would buy it: sponge-ruiner. Because I wanted to clean it, and now I have little bits of sponge that would melt easily over tortilla chips.

I used to think dell tech support was the devil-Mom's computer had WinME. Then I called the server support and gave them my mom's laptop number. That actually got solved very quickly without an accent I couldn't understand.

I believe they've got seperate databases now though.
