Soon it won't just be the RIAA and MPAA flipping out because people are pirating their stuff. What will the world be like when a printer can make copies of anything? Even itself?

Discuss.

i've worked with somethin like that before. it's pretty neat the sort of stuff you can make.

now what'll really piss of the film companies is if you can print a disc with all the pirated material already on it. :P

The only problem with that is that you can only print using 1 color, either the base color of the materal or what ever color that you add to it.

For those of you who are unaware, the UMR IDE department has a beautiful FDM Rapid Protoyper machine. Which produces much better models than the stuff I was able to print out in high school.

I know some foundries have them for prototyping patterns on short notice.

I think it's only a matter of time before we see these mixing colors. It wouldn't be all too difficult. There's already the syringe-based one that can build with silicone, Cheez Whiz, chocolate, etc.
