oh come now, Glocks are ugly, plastic, and made by furrners (to quote Kim du Toit). A 1911 is a much more aesthetically pleasing choice
(to make it clear that I harbor no hostility: there are many perfectly acceptable reasons to buy a glock, but none apply to me, so that's why I'm saving for a Para-Ordinance 1911)

that, my friends, is why i am going to buy a .45 Glock 21 the DAY i turn 21.
So long as that isn't today, you won't need a PTA (permit to acquire... ie permission slip from the Sheriff's office). All you need after today is the feds background check....

You, sir, have good taste in firearms.
1911's and Colt's single action army revolvers are where it's at.

My wife likes her Colt 1911, but I don't generally clean my Glock, and it gets covered with my sweat all the time - no rust. Don't care for the looks either, but... if I want a pretty handgun, I've got a S&W model 29 with blue so deep you can get lost in it like a little ladie's eyes...
Anyway, have you ever jammed a revolver? They usually require a complete disassembly, complete with the requisite gunsmithing tools, rubber mat, and a mallet, to unjam. At least if a semiauto jams, it takes maybe 10 seconds to un-jam it. That said, none of my revolvers have jammed. Neither has my Glock. My wife's Colt Officer's 1911 will reliably jam after 150 rounds.

I have only put ~250 rounds (between cleanings) through my Taurus 24/7, but it has never jammed (but it did misfeed ONCE, I blame that as a mag issue, since the slide just locked open like the mag was empty...).
