I view myself as being fairly liberal, as im from vermont, but i would vote for Ron Paul before i vote for any democratic cantidate. The Doctor would get things done, and in a hurry. also, an interesting image:

Ron Paul would do amazing things for this country. He is the only canidate that i trust and agree with. The only problem, is most media companies hate him, and try to censor and just plainly ignore him. Fox just flat out made fun of him, then he won the debate. I doubt Ron Paul will get elected because the majority of the populous doesn't actually vote based on logic, they vote based on what the media tells them, and the candidate that they hear the most about.

I just don't believe him.

Judging by his voting record, his run as a Libertarian candidate in 1988, and his essays and books; you are wrong.

Unless you are saying that he was been working on his "image" for 30 years just to get 3% in the Republican primaries.

Every year he does introduce bills to eliminate income tax, legalize marijuana, etc., so I'd say he does stick to his word.

Little bit off topic, but THIS is what scares me...

NO, NOT BABY JESUS. HOW DARE THEY....

I seem to recall one of his interviews where he mentioned bringing all our troops home from Iraq, Japan, Germany, etc and using them to help secure our borders

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Paul also holds that children born in the United States to illegal aliens should not be granted automatic citizenship. He has called for a Constitutional amendment to revise the Fourteenth Amendment, to "end automatic birthright citizenship" in order to address welfare issues.

I can't say I agree with this position at all. I believe that if you are born in the US, then you are a citizen. I see where hes coming from with this one, but it seems like it would be prone to abuse.

I think the opposite. This would ease a concern that immigrants would willy nilly jump the border if their children are going to be citizens automatically.

No he doesn't. He has explicitly stated several times that he does not believe the government had a hand in 9/11. He does go on shows or do podcasts with "truthers" because they do have a good number of listeners, and it's a way to get his name out there. Supporting them? No.

That video actually wasn't what I was referring to. Ron Paul is 'in' with the truth movement (according to the truthers, that is), and that bothers a lot of Republicans, including myself. I did manage to find a short audio interview with Ron Paul earlier, and it helped me about a bit.

very short excerpt, but summarizes it wrote:
Interviewer: ...9/11 was orchestrated by the government: You do not support that theory?

Ron Paul: Absolutely not!

Although I have read many transcripts of interview where Ron Paul suggested 'further investigation' into 9/11 was necessary... either way, Fred has my vote for now.
