Fuck Real ID (these ID's in the article "meet federal Real ID requirements").

http://legislatorsagainstrealid.com/

And I did an interview with the creator of said website, Rep. Jim Guest. http://kmnr.org/kmnr_media/Interviews/S ... erview.mp3
(be easy on me, it was my first big interview).

I couldn't care less if it lowers car insurance.

Ok, so the new ID is supposed to be super secure so we can easily identify who is and who isn't an illegal immigrant. Let's also give them to illegal immigrants. If you are going by that method I don't see what is wrong with the current licenses since everyone is going to get them anyway.

Oh wait, I almost forgot. These IDs are going to be available for an extra fee. I'm guessing maybe $1-$5.

Let's see
$5 x 11,000,000 illegal immigrants = more revenue for Spitzfucker. The guy used to be a lawyer. That should explain it right there.

Why would it lower car insurance? I know it SAYS in the article that it will, I just don't understand why it actually would.

Yeah, if anything i think that it would RAISE my premiums. Give a bunch of people who are incredibly unlikely to pay for insurance, and have good reason to not be pulled over by the police, and have already committed one offense (illegial border crossing) the right to drive a car on the road. Seems like it wouldn't even take statistical backing to raise premiums, but I'd bet that the statistical analysis would show that they raise the risk of causing damage to other drivers on the road.

You're dealing with New York logic here. Drop some acid and smoke weed simultaneously and it will make perfect sense.

You're assumming illegal presence is a criminal offense when in fact it's a civil offense. The House bill HR 4437 did infact propose to make illegal presence a criminal offense and yes the bill did pass in the House but did *NOT* pass in Senate. Please try not to make assumptions based on hearsay; immigrants are not "criminals", whether or not they came here legally is beside the point.

Im not sure if illegals can get car insurance as it is (in NY state ). If they can't currently, and this method makes it possible for them to get insured (which I bet is mandatory like it is here in MO) then rates should drop (less uncertainty). But car insurance Co's will most likely not pass savings on to everyone else. :(

Edit:

I don't see how it could possibly raise insurance rates. Maybe you're high

But can and will are two different things. What makes anyone think that they will magically decide to get insurance (or even to get one of these id's) just because they "could"?

I am assuming that NY is similar to MO where if you drive without insurance, it is a slap on the wrist...
