It is a well known fact that people from Kansas City hate people from St. Louis and people from St. Louis hate people from Kansas City. The exact reason why is unknown but it is believed that "St. Louis started it!" however this was respoded to by saying "Kansas City's touching me!"

if you're gonna have the same income yourself either way, i'd prefer to live in the place with a little lower median income.. that way you look like more of a badass compared to all the noobs.

Hahahahaha. All of StL is like a cesspool of crime anyways, as we all know it was the #1 most crime ridden place in the country not too long ago... even beating out detroit and new orleans. So I'd rather have the lower median income if it means I won't get shot / mugged in my daily activities...

I'm pretty certain that's because of how those statistics are counted. KC's stats include all of Kansas City (most of the KC metro area). STL is an older, chartered city. For some reason this means St. Louis County (most of the metro area outside of the city) is NOT included in the crime stats. Stl City only has like 300k people - so crime rates per capita look really high. If you take all crime in Stl City & county and compare it to the ~3.5M people living in the metro area - crime rates are much more normal (about the same as KC, though I don't have the actual numbers)
and always remember:

I don't think they're counting the metro area, just the city itself (Lee's Summit, St. Charles, etc.) in the crime stats. And on the first few slides they note that schools were the biggest determining factor. Also, Kansas City got two winners in it's metro area since the Kansas winner was Overland Park http://images.businessweek.com/ss/08/11 ... ids/17.htm

Ya overland park kinda sucks. This summer gas got up to 4.16 in OP but never peaked 4 in STL. Also, the closeest Walrmart to wear I lived was offically the worst walmart I have ever been in. The MO side might be nice, but the KS was pretty lame.

Also, I can't really respect KC as a sports town till you guys get a hockey team to play in that nice new Sprint Center you built. The only thing makes up for it is having a NASCAR track that get's cup races and not just Trucks/Nwide. I will be grabbing season tickets almost for sure.

Kansas side always sucked. Missouri side was the side to be on
Gladstone, ftw
Seriously? North KC smells, among other things. Has a general feeling of abandonment. Kansas isn't bad at all, and I imagine the better areas will flourish over there as crime rates increase on the Missouri side.

Hockey is for Canadians and as we all know, canada is lame.
Except this one

I've got to say, St. Charles (mentioned as a runner-up) is an oft overlooked wonderful place to raise kids. I was one of them and I turned out okay, I think. If you can deal with all the conservative types there, shit's pretty cash.
