Cliff's notes: Two black men were framed for murder (by white prosecutor, convicted by all-white jury), and 25 years later some hidden police files were found proving they were framed. These men sued the prosecutor.

The prosecutor argued before the court that there is no constitutional right to not be framed by the government. Prosecutors across the nation support the prosecutor.

Obama also supports the white prosecutor who framed two black men in a nearly all-white town.

Even if the prosecutor knows the accused party is innocent, and works to fabricate evidence to frame the accused, they are immune to prosecution or liability - or so the prosecutors and Obama administration argue.

well up and until helping to fabricate evidence, its a prosecutors job to prosecute regardless of knowledge of innocence or guilt. They should sue the cops not the prosecutor

I disagree. If the prosecutor is certain of innocence, there should be no prosecution. I think anyone and everyone in government should be held personally liable for anything they do - that includes representatives, bureaucrats, prosecutors, judges, and beat cops.

Edit: that means both civil AND criminal liability.

if the DA has determined that a case go to trial, it is the prosecutors job to try that case. Should it also be illegal for a defending attorney to try a case where he knows his client is guilty?

The difference here is that a prosecutor's job is to get the criminal convicted. If they know they are working to convict the wrong person, they should go back to the DA and tell them the real criminal is still on the loose, rather than trying to convict a person they know to be innocent.

"Just doing my job" isn't a valid excuse for a prosecutor trying to convict someone he knows is innocent, any more than it was for any of the obvious examples of government wrongdoing we can think of.

What about defending someone you know is guilty?
Happens all the time

There is no way to equate the defense of a known guilty party with the framing of a known innocent party.
