pretty much my keyboard is acting as though the 'Right key' is held down and forces all the text boxes or drop down menus to scroll automatically and rather annoyingly.

it happened sometime last year and i cant figure out how to fix it again, the keyboard is a Microsoft Digital Media Pro (no jokes about how the problem is that its a microsoft keyboard please) with a USB interface. I uninstalled the microsoft driver and it still did it. switch the USB into a PS/2 adapter, still does it.

when i say it does it, i mean after a reboot, it acts fine for a time (10 minutes to 24 hours), then it starts scrolling to the right.

normally google would help me out but the search is a little oblique (keyboard scrolls right)... anyone have any ideas beyond buying a new keyboard or reinstalling the OS (note the OS is a fresh install... about 2 days new)

Have you tried a different keyboard? If you want to troubleshoot this, you first need to determine if it is mechanical or software related.

Sounds like its not a software problem... are you so attached you can't just get another keyboard?

Try putting it through the dishwasher. I hear that can work.
