how to do it? I've got smudges on my LCD monitor that need to come out. What are the general guidelines for screen cleaning?

I always heard windex would damage the screen over time due to the ammonia? Urban legend?

I too would like to find a remedy that doesn't require the purchase of a packaged lcd cleaner...

distilled water + iso-propyl alcohol + cotton cloth works pretty well.

I have eye glasses cleaner that my eye doc always gives me... plus a really soft cloth. It has always given me great results.

I just use bottled or distilled water and an old t-shirt. I wouldn't use windex.. I think I've seen pictures of very bad results when it doesn't all get cleaned up...

Pussy, I just use a razor blade instead of the sandpaper.

If you want to spend money, Klear Screen works good. If not, then distilled water or bottle water and a lens cleaning cloth.[/url]

Don't know if they still sell them, but a few years ago, I bought some wipes from the bookstore that work quite well. I don't even think they were 10 bucks. I don't remember the brand, but they were in a yellow container. I need to get some more of them....mine dried up.
