I have been "aquiring" seasons of tv shows on my computer (saved in .avi) and I would like to burn them to dvd. What do I need (even what kind of dvds) to do this and how hard is it? Should I convert the files to something else first?
From AVI, I recommend 'ConvertXtoDVD.' It's extremely easy to use and automatically makes a menu.
For DVDs, use DVD Decrypter to rip them to your hard drive, DVD Shrink to make them 4.7 GB (assuming they're dual-layer), and then DVD Decrypter to burn them (the last two steps can be done with a single click in DVD Shrink, BTW).
As far as media goes, any kind of DVD-R or DVD+R will read in most DVD players (unless it's really old). That said, make sure your burner supports whatever format you buy. Most modern burners burn both.
I have a 60-pack of DVD+Rs that I'm willing to sell for $15, if you're interested.
