Scott,

Shortly after sending this we ended up doing some more digging into the problem. The network administrators were able to see a problem that was affecting your area, not the entire town of Rolla, but several streets. As of this morning it looks like it should be fixed. Monitor over the next couple of days and if it is still running slower than it should be let us know. I will also enter a request for credit on your Internet account for 1 month of service. If you have any other questions or problems let me know.

Our speed was actually up where it should be this morning, in the 4-4.5 mbps range. But the upload was way way down, below 150.

But I still get constantly disconnected with downloads going.

Same here: 2840/201 this morning. I'm happy (err, happier) that at least my download is where it should be. No disconnect problems either (though that was never an issue).

You know that all these "bad modems" just get checked back out and go right out the door. I highly doubt they do much more then make sure they connect and get internet. Not whether they stay connected under heavy use.

my first one was supposedly brand new. I really doubt its the router but as long as they keep coming out I get free service.
