I'm looking for a dependable wireless G router. I'm tired of having to restart my linksys router as well as having dropped connections. I do have several devices leeching off it; 2 laptops, a wii, and a ps3.
I can also say I've worked with them before, good routers. I do remember a situation where they were in a office with a repeater that was a NIGHTMARE!!!

not sure what version of dd-wrt they were running at the office, but the documentation on setting up repeaters/access points ~v23 was pretty awful. It's gotten much, much better now that v24 is out.
My roommate tried out tomato and I liked it a lot. Tomato had some really nice graphs and was way more lightweight than dd-wrt. Actually, I don't know that for sure, but the interface responded loads quicker. Very nice overall, but it gave me problems with usenet. I suspect it was more the wireless adapter I was using and not the firmware, but had to go back to dd-wrt.

Yea for v23 setting up a repeater was pretty horrible. Right now at home I've got two wrt54gs with v24. One is plugged into the dsl modem and a desktop comp, the other is on the other end of the house and is set as a repeater bridge so it extends the wireless and outputs on ethernet. Was really easy to set up and has been rock solid.

On most of the WRT54G's running the default firmware, yes. This is because most Linksys firmwares have a 3mb limit on firmware images. Concerning the WRT54GL v1.1, some of the new ones have a slightly different firmware version that will allow for a larger firmware update.
btw...blitz you need to save me ffs
