Wiping - Darik's Boot and Nuke Recommend unplugging all other drives before Nuking a drive. But it works really good. Even has settings for military grade wiping I believe.
Recovery - I haven't the slightest idea besides Linux itself. Sorry.

Yeah, I've used DBAN in the past but couldn't recall if I had to remove all the other drives or not. I guess the answer is to indeed remove the others, heh. Thanks.

UBCD4win has some decent recovery options Helix is good if you are a pro and get data back from runtime.org is a great utility if you are willing to spend a few bucks
