ok it looks like(read my other subjects) umr has a majour problem.(thats what it looks like).
what i really want to ask is that ,are there any guys out there who dont care .i mean the ones who are so fed up with them that they no longer feel like dating them.
Seriously, the girls here are that bad. There are some hot ones and some not so hot ones, JUST LIKE THE GUYS! There are some damn ugly guys here, but do you hear the girls going around bitching about it? No. Maybe we should start a post bashing all the bad guys on the UMR campus, because we all know there are lots of them.

These redundant threads are getting really frigging boring. Maybe you can't score chicks because you spend all your time on Seek42 searching for pr0n and posting to the forums...

There are only a few big problems on this campus, and I'll tell you what, the girls are not one of them. If you'd get out, and perhaps TALK to some of them, you'd see that there are quite a few really cool girls out here.
But if you want a summary list of the problems UMR has, I'll gladly bring it.
1) The foreign graduate students are more willing to learn and properly use the English language than the people who have been immersed in the language their entire lives. And I don't mean just simple crap like changing verb tenses in the middle of a sentence, or ending a sentence with a preposition. Many people here would fail my high school English class. I don't care if you are engineering majors..you've still gotta speak the language.
2) There are guys that leave their rooms for three reasons--to eat in the cafeteria on those rare nights they don't order pizza; to go to class; and to take their weekly shower. Yet these same people complain that the girls in Rolla are ugly or inaccessible.
3) Our chancellor does little to no work of which anyone's aware. However, he's getting a raise that--in itself--would be a comfortable salary for a family of 4. This is during the time of UM System's "horrible" fiscal crunch by which they justify tuition hikes.
4) UMR's wonderful scholarship deferment policy. Even though one person earns departmental scholarship money to supplement their education, at least half of it goes to funding another person's scholarships. Somehow this is distinct from robbery.
5) On a personal note, the fact that I'd rather spend time on an anonymous public forum than do my homework so that the government will pay my way thorugh this place. Damn you Seek for being so addicting. (And it's not the porn!)
There's a few to get me started. If you have more, bring it.

Apparently this seems to work only with loans. In some cases, money from your scholarship is applied to your loan. This is only supposed to happen when you're "overawarded". But for most of the people I've talked to, the sum total of money they get from UMR doesn't cover, in most cases, the total cost of school. Yet this policy still applies that half (or so) of whatever scholarship you get after you freshman year is applied to your loan.
What truth there is in this, I'm not entirely sure, since I don't as of yet have a student loan and, outside of summers, hope never to have to take one. But this is what I've heard said from several different people who do have loans and subsequently get scholarships.
And in all reality, this really isn't such a bad thing--I mean, it takes care of $150 of your loan or so. But when that $150 can be better applied to a book for a class or (almost) a credit hour that isn't covered yet, this pisses people off.

Didnt work like that about a year ago. I had a departmental scholarship that was half loan, half scholarship. My total cash from the state spilled over into a check, but the loan didnt get a dime applied to it. Luckily I managed to get a different scholarship this time around since I dont want any loans to pay off later.
