I'm in 160 right now with Ekstam, and have learned zip.

If you take it, take it with the other professor. From what I hear, you still won't learn much, but you'll do less work.

Haven't taken 60, so I don't know about it.

Apparently in one of the English 60 classes, the only topic you write about all semester is karate, or kung fu, or something. I wasn't in that class so I can't comment, but personally I think I'd get tired of that subject after a while. I'm sure the subject doesn't affect your ability to learn how to do research, but still.

Yeah, my writing skills haven't improved that much (if any) because of the class. It's pretty easy though, and my resume/cover letter improved around 200% due to it. Other than that it's been a waste of $600 in tuition.
