So I need 1 300 level class for my math minor and I'm looking for the easiest class with the best teacher. I'm thinking modern algebra is the ticket. Anyone have experience with this class, or know anything at all about it? If you can think of an easier 300 level math class I'm up for suggestions.

Is mathematical modeling a 300 level? I can't remember, but it was really easy if you know how to do Matlab coding.

My extent of experience with matlab is very limited. I've used it for a few things, maybe 2-3hrs experience with it. How hard would it be to follow the class given no or little experience? Anyone have some comments on modern algebra?

Ok... well, if you know how to use Matlab's Help to find what commands you need that you don't know how to use it's pretty easy. Basically it's just projects implementing topics taught in class. The class doesn't give you any Matlab instruction, but Matlab's Help is good enough that self-instruction is pretty easy. You have four projects in the class with a partner, so try to take the class with a friend.
