I searched and could not find the link to the site that has the software and hardware schematics for the christmas light controller.
I just saw this video and thought it would be cool to try and mimick it.

ZOMG that rox! I may just have to work on something like that for next xmas.

In the meantime, this is my current hobby project:
http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=8680

Almost built a wall-sized EQ Spectrum Analyzer one year with this.
Pretty cool - great for parties, etc.
I think I might take up one of these this holiday season... you can get pretty creative.

ok, one of the posters after that video mentions a MIDI sequencer that can be routed to light controllers. I would love to do something like this, I could even broadcast a song for others to listen if they find the frequency near the place...

That, and some schematics would be great.

Also being a 4 North alum, the lights were awesome. Kinda freaky to walk down the hallway when they were pulsating, rotating, or shooting back and forth, they were known to screw with many drunk people's heads.

It's kind of dreamy when you wake up in the morning to it, before things like logic start working.

I wake up at 6:30 in the morning, and my eyes have trouble focusing as i walk down the hall. I think I am used to it now though, it's fun. Makes it feel seasonal.

I did the 7nw lights display for ghetto christmas three years ago.

I have a printed circuit board designed and everything to control the lights. Thinking about offering it premade or as a kit you could build.

Contact me at aaron_800@yahoo.com for more info.

Later,
Aaron

Anyone know the name of that song in both videos? It is pretty sweet for a Christmas song.
