Fantastic.

Assuming the claims are truthful, I'm a little bothered that my original distrust and apprehension of thefacebook has merit. Turns out I'm not as paranoid as I thought.

*shrug* as one commenter put it:

"The CIA cares that I like gin and Bob Dylan?"

It seems to hold up. Don't know if its actually CIA, but it really seems that it could easily be used for all of that. Check out the privacy statement basically saying that they'll share it with anyone they want to. I mean you're right, who cares if I like gin and Bob Dylan, but take it further with what alot of people post there...

I for one don't like gin or Bob Dylan . . . wait . . . on second thought . . .

On that same note, does seek have a privacy policy?

I may be paranoid, but that doesn't mean the government isn't really out to get me.

that's pretty messed up, our government is out to get us. but why do they think they can just do this? just because they are the government doesn't mean they are god's who have the right to know everything about everybody.

You have got to be kidding. Anyone stupid enough to put any illegal activities on the internet, let alone a PUBLIC site such as facebook or myspace deserves to get hammered. thedude, What are they doing wrong? Are they forcing people to join these things? Are they forcing people to put certain info on there? Guess what, they only know what you put on there, so don't put anything on there that you don't want the entire world to see, and you will be okay. You people remind me of the douches over the summer, that bitched because when they went to a function funded solely by a local church (everything from admission to bug spray to meals was free), the bastards in that church had the nerve to hold a short service. If you don't want to be involved,

DON"T SIGN YOURSELF UP!!!!1111!!one!one!!!

In other news, this is kinda funny, I had wondered how these sites got financed, I guess now I know.

I don't think so. If I do remember correctly, Swirls got in trouble for something he mentioned having over Seek. I think someone else did too a couple years back. I don't remember though.

there isn't a privacy policy, but it is a freedom of speech.

All hail the intellectual giant.

There are enough laws so that the government can hammer you anytime. Have you burned a cd from files you got off seek42? How many people on campus have software they can use from seek with alcohol?
