They're building a new shopping center there....anyone know what will be in it? Maybe we'll get lucky and it will be something good like a Best Buy. Then again, I doubt it. I'd even settle for a Target, just so I don't have to go to Wal-Mart.

I just hope it's something good to make life in Rolla slightly more bearable

Target would rock!

I doubt Rolla would appreciate it though...

Yeah, there isn't enough non-white trash in Rolla to support a Target :(

I think the non-white trash professors and college students would shop there :?

I know I'd definitley shop there...plus, if I don't quit my job at Target back home, I get 10% off everything.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a Home Depot. Whoever they are, they're trying (or successfully tried) to get the lot under tax-increment financing. The "STOP TIF" people you've surely seen running around are the ones you need to ask.

Seems that last I remember, they were talking about Home Depot wanting to go right there.

Jack in the Box needs to be higher on the list than a small town's second home improvement center.

Where's your home and if it's St Louis, which Target?

Target in Chesterfield, MO employee myself. My job makes me want to jump off a cliff.

And, they can't make you transfer either. You can if you want (why would you want to, I consider my time at college to be a vacation from that hell) but don't have to.

T-1509. While they can't MAKE me transfer, she is able to not offer me a leave of absence (which they have been known to do for people going to SMS). If you don't take that you would then have to quit and hope they will rehire you for Christmas (which they probably won't cause you didn't be thier little bitch). Anyways, I like the system I have going, and a Target in town would only ruin that. On a side note it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it is, because when I first started there, the TR lady said that rolla should be getting one between 2007-2010 (cause, at some point they decided to double the number of targets across the country and try to hit the big small towns).
