Does anyone know where the DMV is in Rolla? My plates are up for renewal soon. Also, can I even renew my plates in Phelps Co even if the car is registered in St. Louis County (I have the paperwork stating I passed STL emissions testing...25 bucks for a piece of paper telling my 2 year old car isn't polluting the air, what a fucking ripoff)

Yeah, the emissions is for the St Louis area only, but I'm sure all of the other counties where you don't have to do it are aware of it and require STL registered cars to show that they passed....otherwise, it would be too easy for people in STL whose cars failed emissions to travel out of the county to renew.

I wish they'd end the program alltogether. It's a huge pain in the ass Plus, most newish cars that haven't had any modifications to the exhaust system will pass. Not to mention, expensive too. I had to pay $25 for the test station to hook something into my car's OBDII port and read a computer screen stating it passed.

A friend of mine wanted to renew her plates St.L. registered plates in Springfield, they had no idea what the emissions test paper was. They let her by without it and told her to hold on to it "just in case."

The Rolla DMV is on south 63/Bishop, towards the edge of town.

Basically: go past Wal-Mart, past Lion's Park, and look for JCPenny's on your right. The DMV is in the small cluster of shops just before JCP, and it's on the end farthest away from the highway. Turn in on the JCP parking lot and look around a little bit. It's not very well marked in my opinion, but it *is* there.

Yes, by the UPS store. But you need to go to STL for the emissions test. I went to the one closer in St. Clair and they refused to do the test since I am registered in STL so I had to go all the way to the ballwin test center for it.

Do it by mail. I had to this summer when I was living out of state, I just drove to a inspection station in Missouri and sent in the inspection papers along with my property tax reciepts and got the new stickers in the mail.

I miss the old days when the DMV was at the back of that weird used furniture store.

I've got all of the paperwork, so by the time I get it together in an envelope and go to the post office, I could have gone to the DMV.

Plus, my drivers license needs renewal in a couple months and I might as well get that taken care of while I'm there.

Yes. It is toward the back end of the strip mall...

Are you kidding me? I hated it there. It was creepy. The owners of the store eyeballed me the entire time I was there to get my drivers license renewed, as if I was going to steal something. I am glad that they have their own place now.

Nah, I was being sarcastic. Did you ever look at the furniture prices though? I don't know how they ever sold anything. Maybe they subsisted on payments from the DMV.
