your best luck is finding an old one in someone's basement, like Trav2003's. These days a deposit of $50+ dollars is required for every keg in Missouri (thank you keg registration and MIC laws).
I believe (honestly don't know) you have to register handguns in CA and NY, and they're just hunks of metal. In Whales they're starting to require KNIFE registration
Edit--Not entirely sure, have heard about the knife registration, but can't find my source right now.
