that's the only thing like that in Rolla... which makes them think they can be ridiculous with cost...
Costwise... it's better to go with a house or apartment with roommates
Actually, I find the cost to be quite reasonable considering what they offer. $417 for a two bedroom is quite good when that price includes everything but food and electricity. That is, of course, assuming the facilities are good.... which I don't know. But it is a bit cheaper than Res College (with more amenities and no forced meal plan - not to mention 6 and 12 month leases). And I'm willing to bet the fitness center is better than UMR's. I can see it being successful.
Besides, this is what everyone has been yearning for - competition for ResLife.
alot of the amenities they offer like fitness center, pool, etc. we already have paid for through fees on campus... .
That's true; the facilities at CS would need to be pretty good to merit the cost; But I know quite a few people who pay for the Rolla Centre still. I just don't see the cost being a lot - when I was in Rolla, I was paying $350/month for everything. Granted, I'm a spender...

Maybe I am at the wrong place, but the cheapest 2 bedroom is $475 PER PERSON, per month. Were you looking at the 4 bedroom or am I looking in the wrong place? And how is this competition for the dorms? Will they let freshmen/sophomores live there instead of the dorms?

They probably would in all likelihood. Well I dunno. I've heard stories of people who've beat the system by simply not renewing their housing contracts. I think they just don't (didn't?) have an adequate sysem for tracking that. Maybe they still don't.
