Make sure to attend UMR’s Block Party this weekend and help a worthy charity for a chance to dunk some notable figures on UMR’s campus who will be in the Block Party dunk tank!

Dunk the following people beginning at 2pm:

Lauren Huchingson
Student Body President

Mark Potrafka
Director of Student Life

Alex Dempsey
Student Council VPX Elect

Shaun Dierker
RHA Co-Chair

Michael Ojo
SUB President

Christopher Stryker
Missouri Miner Editor-in-Chief

This is a one day event!

They could not have picked a better group of people to do this with. I'm sure there's plenty of StuCo reps that want their shot at Dempsey, as well as Hutch, and with all the bitching about the Miner, Chris just couldn't be much better.

I'm sure there are a few people that are sad they couldn't dunk the chancellor.

Bingo. Also, it is crappy that this overlaps the FE exam.

I'd like to point out that the idea to do this was first thought of last Thursday. Frankly I'm amazed that it actually got pulled off, and that they got that many people to sign on to it that quickly.

Not mentioned is that its $1 for three throws, all the money goes to charity, the people will only be there for an hour apiece starting at 2, and I don't think that they will be there in the same order that they are currently listed (although Lauren is first at 2)

Oh, and you should all come out to Block Party. Its all day and its free(1).

(1): "free" meaning that you paid for some of it with your Student Fees already, so you should come out to it since you paid for it.

If nothing else you should come out and be aware of why there are fireworks going off tomorrow evening. (The fireworks start at 8:45)

There's a missouri miner editor, the guy who let chartwells screw around for the last 2 years or so, the stuco president. Plenty of people to dunk.

I would have driven down from KC just for that pleasure.

I heard they tried to get him, but he's out of town this weekend at the OGS meeting.

to whom are you refering?
if its shaun, then you are wrong, because last year, and the year before, he was an RA, and had very little power in hall government.

if you're blaming that on alex... meh, go for it, its probably his fault.

While we're on the topic, is the BBQ free, or does it cost a meal? I see they want your student ID, but I figured that was just to make sure only UMR students got food. I just want to make sure I'm not paying 4 or 6 bucks for "free" food.

Free. They're letting high schoolers eat for free too.

Will there still be food at 7? i.e. is it a hard end time (stop serving) or is that just an estimation?

it is a good way to waste a few hours, though it woulda been nice had they thrown out a few frisbees or a soccer ball. waiting in line to do shit is kinda boring.

Also, did anybody else notice that there were a ton of high schoolers. And this also seemed to be the thing to do if you were not born in america.
