I remember when I first came to rolla it was a deli, but it burned down, so they basically mothballed the building, and huddle house later moved in. I wonder if Huddle House will rebuild. They have decent cheap food at during those late munchie hours.

one of my housemates happened to be driving by when it was burning, before the firetrucks got there. Said he could see flames shooting up the back of the building, and that it looked like it was coming out of one of their trash dumpsters. My guess is one of the employees went out for a smoke break and tossed their cigarette somewhere it shouldn't have been tossed.

I do layout for the Rolla Daily News on Sunday nights and we have a blurb about this for Monday's issue. Apparently it was an 'accidental fire' that originated in the dumpster in the back of the building. There were some pretty big flames coming out of it, but as far as I could tell, there wasn't excessive damage done to the building itself.
