I've been down here for a few months and I've found some good Chinese and Pizza joints but I'm in real need for a good barbecue joint, What's the best local place and why?
P.S. This might already be a topic somewhere but I'm too lazy to go searching for it, sorry if it is and thanks for the help.
Best place is in Cuba, 20 miles east of here at a place called Missouri Hicks BBQ. It's the best place your going to get around here without going to KC.
EDIT:
Yeah they're reasonable in price, also the only place you'll find around here that has TRUE BBQ. The entire place is pretty cool looking, two story, everything's wood (Entire building, tables, chairs) and the place is ussually pretty packed on weekends.
If your from KC, then this is probably the only place that you'll think of as true BBQ around here.

I am fond of Johnny's Smokestack on 72. It's name has changed back and forth in the past year, so I am not sure what it is called atm. Regardless, it is about 1 block off of 63, on the corner of 72 and Rolla St. They have awesome flavor, but the only downside is almost everything tastes the same. It's worth a try.

Maybe I'm spoiled, but nothing compares to Smokestack in KC. At all.
I take that back, Tater Patch has a good pulled pork tater but I don't like going there because of hardcore towny infiltration ... and you come out smelling smokier for longer than if you had gone to the grotto for a few hours.

The best place in KC is a little hole in the wall downtown called Rosedales, they've been there for over 75 years and they kick ass, I also like gates and Arthur Bryant's
sweetwater bbq 20 miles west on 44. it's at the road ranger exit and is visible from the highway. i garuntee you will not be disappointed. by far the best bbq i've ever had and i was really never into bbq beforehand.
