I have been taking a Math 21 equivalent course at a community college this summer, and was wondering if anyone knows if its fine to have Math 14, 21, 22 combo for a comp e degree and comp sci. Because math 15 says for engineers and math 21 doesnt. |

It should be fine; just talk to your advisor. I've found the engineering degrees usually like to have their students take the ** for Engineers courses (even if they're the watered down version, like the calc courses), but if you take the other ones they'll usually let you do the substitutions. I say usually because some advisors are too anal, but if that's the case just get someone else to sign off on it. |

Yeah most advisors are pretty cool about the for eng stuff. Except Price, but that's my own special beef shared by the rest of the campus. I seriously pitty you if you have Price. |

Price is the freshmen advisor for the CS program. All CS freshmen get him and are reassigned after their freshmen year. I don't know what you did to piss him off, but he's fine as long as you don't try to bullshit him or waste his time. |

Price was a pretty good advisor, though I'm glad I never had him for any classes (cs001 doesn't count). As for the Calc class differences I know the For Engineers class automatically went on my CAPS reports without any problems. (ie: Math 14 took the place of the Math 8 requirement.) I would imagine that yours would work the same way, but it would still be a good idea to talk to your advisor about it. |
