Man, I agree that living off campus is great, but it isn't a huge step up from living at the QUAD. Tj tools...the Quad is definitely where to live if you are going to live in the dorms at UMR. I know, I know..."you have to go outside to eat". It's nice to go get some fresh air and actually see the sun. Your neighbor's door will most likely be open (I speak not for Holtman Hall...they're just weird). so I guess it goes
i agree with hitman, i've lived in altman for a few semesters and it's been great the entire time. everyone always has their doors open and you get a lot closer with the ppl on your floor because there aren't as many of them and you get to know them too.

Spoken like someone who doesn't have a clue. Having a kitchen is enough to warrent living off campus, but throw in the fact that you'll never have to deal with big headed idiotic ResLife lackies again and it's just gold.

yeah you're right I have no clue at all...God save morons like me.
EDIT:
Oh, and I am off campus for good now. I lived off campus last summer and went back to the dorms in the fall. It's not like I staysed in my room the entire time either, I was one of the bigger partiers down at the QUAD, but off campus isn't a load better. I never had any real problems with ResLife, but the cafeteria food did kill me.

I"m going to go with October on that one. The way things have been progressing over there I wouldn't think that they'd be a whole lot later than that. Plus they can do a lot of the interior work at the same time (plumbers and electricians can work a thte same time, so can carpetlayers and drywall hangers).
Some shots below from June 11th that make me optimistic that at least the Havener Center will be ready to go by the time we get back. The studs, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC look done, and they're just waiting for the ceiling grid, drywall, fixtures, and floor tile work.

LOL. I love the spider pictures, AC. I hadn't seen these before.
Here's McNutt being overrun by a 30 foot tall ghost spider. God save us all.
So now we know what eats leftover Chatwells food at the end of the school year...

I agree completely, living off campus owns. EX: Burnt pizza from the oven >> TJ Chartwells
Plus it'll only cost you $1 if you grab a totinoes party pizza, as opposed to the $6 you pay per meal at TJ. Also, Walmart has fully cooked rotisserie chickens for $4. Buy one of those along with some noodles and vegetables, and you've got a good dinner for two or three days.
Damn I love living off campus. Makes me wish I didn't spend those seven semesters in TJ...
... and I bet you don't have to wield the crotchbat to ward off gays as much either...
