No need to worry about DMCA violations as long as you restrict your sharing within the network. UMR IST seems to look the other way for that much.
Unfortunately, this means being a stingy bastard if you use file-sharing services. Some sharers online will cut your downloads off on general principle since you're not sharing in return.
well im no longer at Rolla, I wouldnt say i miss it as much as i miss friends i made there
I agree. Moving on and moving away isn't easy when leaving all your friends.
Though my engineering job has some great perks..... we keep beer in the fridge for 3 (or noon) on Friday (or Monday) afternoons. The working world is a lot better then classes and UMR.
It does not matter where I am... I miss the same things. Home is nowhere to me. The only time I feel at home is when I am with my friends; wherever we are at is home as long as we are there. Therefore, I do not miss anything about either the house people would call home and Rolla. I only miss my friends when I am in either place.
1. High speed internet. We have dial up at home. Back before free Napster got shut down, i took me 45 minutes to d/l a song. Maybe 5 seconds at UMR.
2. Seek42. More free software/mutimedia than i could ever want.
3. The actual city of Rolla....i know it may seem small if you are from KC or STL, but it has 8 times the population of my hometown and alot more to do. Plus, as mentioned above, a 10 minute drive from the dorms and you are in the middle of nowhere.
4. Learning with my brain, versus making money with my body. I prefer thinking much more.
