I am getting ready to build my loft for next semester. Can anyone tell me the height of the rooms in the North Tower of TJ? I kinda lost that measurement and it would be awesome if it were even included on the Res Life site!

12 cinder blocks. A cinder block is 8 inches, so it's 8 feet tall, about.

The loft in my room is 8 cinderblocks tall, plus 1 more when you include the mattress, which leaves 3 for sleeping room. This works fine for me, though others build them shorter (and a few are taller, I guess) based on preference.

There are 16 inches from the top of the door to the ceiling. Therefore, your head should have four inches of clearance. Is that about right?

Be very careful to take into consideration having to break it down and move it if in fact you're going to build it before you actually bring it to whatever room you were assigned. I have a friend who made a huge loft and we had to saw it in half to get it out of her room at the end of the year. Don't be us.

The 7North is about 10 inches higher I believe. And the 11th floor is about 5 inches taller? Just a guess from memory.
