Probably not. It has some nifty features on it for confidence intervals and hypothesis tests. The best thing to do would be to ask the instructor if they are going to teach anything on it.

Not if you know your math. Most of it is pretty easy to visualize. Though I can only guess that a TI-89 (you know, with 3D graphing capabilities) would come in rather handy, especially for the first 2 tests.
